Successful Day In Beauharnois
Melbourne, FL September 4th, 2017– H8 Cancer Racing had a successful day in Beauharnois. With weather looking bad for Sunday the team pushed hard for a good result on Saturday. It was a good thing they did because rain washed out the races on Sunday.
Starting with the Formula 2500 class it was Karson Kennedy to push her hull on the tough water conditions on the shortened course due to dams being open near by. Karson excelled in her first heat bringing her F-25 to a 3rd place finish. Heat 2 was a little tougher on Karson but she was able to bring home a 5th place position and bring the boat home in one piece. Karson said “Water conditions were the most challenging I have raced in. It was hard to read the water but I just tried to get the best finish possible for my team.”
In H-350 it was Derec Smith that lead the way for H8 Cancer Racing. A challenge from Patrick Haworth in heat one made it difficult for Derec but he was able to push through and pick up the victory. Heat 2 saw Derec starting from the outside in a very tough heat. He was able to finish heat 2 in 2nd place gaining valuable points in the championship race. “The competition of the H-350 class is tough. So to pull off a 1st and a 2nd we are very happy. Cant wait for the season finale in Gananaque.” Stated Derec. Paul Barber had to sit out this weekend due to health issues so filling in was Bobby King which was able to push the boat to two 5th place finishes while getting use to the boat. Bobby King said “ The boat handled very nice. It was a great opportunity to drive for H8 Cancer Racing and I hope to do it again someday!”
Brandon Kennedy took the GP-25 to two strong 2nd place finishes over the weekend and moved up to 3rd in the championship. “This boat is coming alive and getting faster and faster. We will not stop working till we are up front” Said Brandon
